Skilled Minibus Driver - Grainthorpe and Marshchapel Schools

The governors of the Fenland Federation of Marshchapel Infant and Grainthorpe Junior Schools wish to appoint a Minibus Driver to serve the surrounding villages and town.

You will be joining an enthusiastic but small team of dedicated staff.

You will provide schools transport services for children attending the schools with a morning and evening bus run on designated routes, reporting to the Executive Headteacher.

This is a position working Monday to Friday during term time; the typical work pattern will be 6:45am to 9am and 3.15pm to 4.45pm. Additional hours cover one afternoon for the swimming journey to Louth.
The successful applicant will be required to attend any relevant training courses provided by the school.

THE ROLE:

Responsible for the health and safety, comfort and welfare of pupils whilst being transported in the vehicle.
Carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks, and basic maintenance (topping up fluid levels, tyre pressures, etc.).
Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents.
Ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
Refuelling vehicle as required.
Working within health and safety guidelines and maintaining records.

ALL ABOUT YOU:

Must hold a current, clean and valid driving licence which includes either D1 or a PCV licence.
An ability to communicate with a range of people.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Reliable and trustworthy.
Flexible approach to working arrangements.
Sensitivity to user needs.

EXPERIENCE:

Good geographical knowledge of local area.
Previous experience of driving a minibus or similar sized vehicles would be advantageous.
